The Role

City Academy Whitehawk is proud to offer exciting and inclusive education to children aged 3 to 11 years. We are very proud that our Early Years provision was rated as ‘Outstanding’ by OFSTED in May 2024.


We are seeking a talented Nursery Practitioner to come and join our exceptional Early Years Team. Working under the guidance of the Nursery Room Lead, the successful candidate will support in the day-to-day operation of our Hatchlings Nursery Class for 3 and 4 year olds.


Our Nursery team play a vital role in supporting our children in their transition to the main school Reception class. The successful candidate will need to be a good team player with a flexible attitude to meet the demands of a busy primary school environment. Our Early Years Team work together to meet the needs of all children in the setting across Nursery and Reception which provides opportunities to develop practice both within the Nursery and Reception classrooms.

Working hours will be 8.40am to 3.10pm, Monday to Friday with half an hour’s unpaid lunch break. Staff are required to work term time only which includes school INSET days. The salary shown reflects an interim 2025/2026 pay award, pending completion of the negotiations between the National Employers and the Trade Unions. The difference between this and what is agreed as the final pay award will be paid as a lump sum back pay, when announced by the government and the Trade Unions.
